I think it's time to upgrade some of my gear, so I'm looking at getting a new tripod which is lighter and smaller than my current one.  Does anyone have any recommendations?  I'm after one which is well suited to travelling and which I wont mind carrying long distances, so it'll either have to fold down small enough to fit in a backpack or strap onto the side.  I don't want to spend more than £150 (including the head.)

The Child's Play charity does some great work at this time of year, providing toys and games to sick kids in hospital.  If you can spare some cash this Christmas, head over to the web site and help out!

The Landscape Photographer of the Year 2008 results have been announced.  My favourite shots were the winners of the "Classic View" and "Young Photographer" prizes which are both fantastic.  The photographs are on display down in London for the next couple of months so hopefully I'll get a chance to go down and see them.  Take a look at this link for the winning pictures: www.take-a-view.co.uk/2008_win…
